The Organizing Committee of Dioxin 2023 is pleased to announce that this will be the first time Dioxin returns to Europe in the last 5 years. So far, the Organizing Committee has received over 400 short papers from 40 different countries. Of these 400 papers, 225 have been scheduled for oral presentations, and 175 posters will be on display during the four-day symposium.

The aim of Dioxin 2023 is to focus on the science of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) from a broad perspective. Well-known dioxins, PCBs and PBDEs, as well as PFAS, CPs, PCNs, and related compounds, will be covered in technical talks and short courses. The symposium will cover several topics, such as analytical advances, emission/formation control, waste/risk management, environmental levels, fate and transport, human exposure, toxicity, toxicokinetic, food/feed, regulation, microplastics, and forensics. Additionally this year, the symposium will explore global pollution issues and give more attention to developing countries.

The 43rd International Symposium on Halogenated POPs will be held at the MECC, in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The venue is conveniently located to center city, near many of the major hotels in Maastricht, as well as in close proximity to public transportation.
